EVALUATION OF THE ACCURACY OF USING TOPICAL ANTIBIOTICS IN SELF-MEDICATION FOR ACNE VULGARIS AT THE DENPASAR REGIONAL PHARMACY

Background: One of the skin problems that are often experienced by teenagers today is acne. Acne vulgaris or acne a chronic inflammatory disease pilosebaceous follicles which characterized formation papules, pustules, nodules. Purpose: This study aims to provide an accurate description use topical antibiotics in patients and find out drugs used as self-medication for vulgaris. Methods: research included descriptive design. Data collection was done direct observation recorded on checklist sheet Vulgaris who did at pharmacy. Results: Judging from evaluation accuracy AV Denpasar Regional Pharmacy, results obtained were 53 patients, 92.98% right indication group, 57 100%, dose 54 94.74% group duration administration, 100% appropriate time interval administration side effect alert group. The giving antibiotics, category inappropriate indications 5.71% respondents, 5.08% respondents. therapy Topical Retinoids, Mediklin Gel, TR, Erymed. drug most given pharmacists namely TR Semisynthetic Lincosamide much 38.57%.
